Sia Taylor’s sense of looking, initiated by an intuitive process that began in childhood, was sharpened during her studies in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in London. As she transferred her painterly approach to jewelry, she found herself wanting to capture the inspiration she found in nature into tangible structures. She translates into jewelry the natural shapes of wind blowing through long grasses, light coming through the rain, and the delicate beauty of tiny seeds. Her palette of colors come from her unique use of varying carats of gold. She works in her atelier in the quiet Somerset countryside, using traditional methods such as melting and hammering by hand.
